Current (old) release
February 27th, 2007Hello world,
the current release of MeWiG is still 0.011. You can as always download it from here.
I’ve started work on a new release, but it will take time. Hang on.

You might have noticed, that MeWiG has a new, shiny and unfinished Website.
This is due to the fact, that the old one has been thrashed recently by a hacker or script-kiddy (probably the last one).
Other than beeing annoying, a hack can be usefull. If told, where I was lazy, I can learn and make my Website more secure. A good hack hack would then include leaving statements like
You NOOB - You had a weak Password!
or
You NOOB - Your shitty PHP was too damn old and full of holes!
or
You NOOB - Your PHPNuke version XYZ was so buggy and you didn’t even update!
But as it was, the page was just riuned and no hint left, where the problem was. This means, I now know, I have to act different. But I’m not sure, if I’m doing better now. Do you get the point?
Every public Webpage must fear being pwned at some point, else they couldn’t be on public Internet. In so far I can respect the knowledge and experience needed for breaking open a website. But completely thrashing a site without telling WHAT WAS WRONG is just useless vandalism.
To keep it short: If you hack my Website, fine. But, please, tell me how you did it!
Sorry for the ramblings. See it as contructive criticism.
Yours, hco
